Archbishop Khajag Barsamian Presented an Award to Rabbi Arthur Schneier

The Appeal of Conscience Foundation bestowed the Appeal of Conscience Award upon Raj Subramaniam, President and Chief Executive Officer of FedEx, at its 61st Annual Gala held at Pier Sixty in New York, in the presence of approximately 500 distinguished guests.

Mr. Subramaniam was honored in recognition of his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to connecting people, communities, and economies across the globe through innovation, service, and a profound sense of corporate responsibility.

Founded in 1965 by Rabbi Arthur Schneier, the Appeal of Conscience Foundation is an esteemed interfaith coalition of business, religious, and diplomatic leaders dedicated to advancing peace, religious freedom, and human rights throughout the world.

Over the years, the Appeal of Conscience Award has been conferred upon an exceptional group of international statesmen and leaders whose service has advanced the cause of peace, human dignity, and global cooperation. Previous honorees have included Henry Kissinger, Mario Draghi, Shinzo Abe, Lee Hsien Loong, François Hollande, David Cameron, Enrique Peña Nieto, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and Stephen Harper.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to Rabbi Arthur Schneier, Founder and President of the Appeal of Conscience Foundation. The award was presented on behalf of the Foundation’s Trustees by Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Pontifical Legate in Western Europe, Representative of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin to Vatican, and Vice President of the Foundation, in tribute to Rabbi Schneier’s extraordinary legacy of moral leadership, interfaith understanding, and steadfast advocacy for human dignity.

The gala was attended by prominent religious, diplomatic, and civic leaders, among them His Eminence Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Vatican; Archbishop Elpidophoros of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America; and Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan, Primate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America.

The 61st Annual Gala stood as a distinguished affirmation of the Foundation’s enduring mission: to foster peace, uphold freedom of religion, and strengthen the bonds of mutual respect and conscience among nations and peoples.
