On Saturday, October 3, St. Nersess Armenian Seminary hosted a festive celebration to honor Archbishop Khajag Barsamian and celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Seminary’s Armonk campus and the consecration of its chapel.
The evening recognized Archbishop Khajag’s visionary leadership and instrumental role in bringing St. Nersess to its home in Armonk — a place where future clergy and lay leaders continue to learn, grow in faith, and prepare to serve the Armenian Church.
During the celebration, Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan presented Archbishop Khajag with a commemorative plaque, created by sculptor Michael Keropian, expressing the Seminary’s deep gratitude for his vision, dedication, and leadership.
A lasting tribute to his commitment to education and the future of the Church, proceeds from the evening will establish the Archbishop Khajag Barsamian Scholarship, which will provide annual support to a seminarian from Europe selected by Archbishop Khajag to study at St. Nersess.
As Archbishop Khajag shared during the evening:
“I believe deeply in St. Nersess and its essential role in the Armenian Church.”
